The September 2026 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games are live today, giving PS Plus members four new games to claim and play across PS5 and PS4. The line-up mixes tactical stealth, baseball, co-op sandbox chaos and a story-driven JRPG, making it one of the broader monthly selections in recent memory.

Sniper Elite: Resistance Leads the Line-Up

The headline addition is Sniper Elite: Resistance, Rebellion’s tactical third-person shooter set during the Second World War. It is available on both PS5 and PS4, and its emphasis on patience, positioning and long-range precision gives September’s line-up a strong start.

The campaign can be played alone or in co-op, so the game works whether you want a methodical solo mission or a more social run through occupied Europe. Co-op brings an extra layer of planning: one player can create an opening while the other watches a flank, marks targets or lines up the shot that clears the route.

MLB The Show 26 is the PS5-only pick this month, offering a more focused sports alternative to the other three games. Sony says this year’s edition features enhanced modes and adds 11 new college teams, expanding the route from amateur baseball to the professional game.

Road to the Show remains the obvious place to begin for players who enjoy building a career. The college additions give that progression a wider foundation, while Diamond Dynasty provides the familiar card-collection and team-building side of the package for players who prefer an ongoing competitive mode.

There is also a limited Jump Start Bundle available from 1 September until 6 October. That timing gives subscribers a little longer to take advantage of it than the standard monthly-game window, although players should check the in-game and PlayStation Store terms before assuming every bonus is included with the subscription.

As a PS5-only release, MLB The Show 26 is the clearest showcase of this month’s current-generation focus. It will not be the right fit for every subscriber, but baseball fans have a substantial sports game to explore while the rest of the month’s downloads cover very different genres.

Wobbly Life Offers a Lighter Change of Pace

Wobbly Life is the most immediately approachable game in the September selection. Available on PS5 and PS4, it is an open-world sandbox built around goofy physics, minigames, story missions and the freedom to cause trouble at your own pace.

The game supports solo play, online multiplayer and local split-screen for up to four players. That makes it an especially useful download for families or groups who want something that can be picked up quickly without learning a dense combat system or a complicated set of rules.

Its activities include Trash Zone, Hide & Seek, Wobble Run and Sandbox, alongside jobs and story objectives spread around the world. The structure is deliberately loose: you can follow missions, experiment with vehicles, play short challenges or simply see what happens when several players start pushing the game’s physics to their limit.

Wobbly Life also helps the monthly line-up avoid feeling too serious. Sniper Elite: Resistance and Chained Echoes both ask for a meaningful time investment, while MLB The Show 26 is built around repeatable sports modes. Wobbly Life is the easy recommendation for a quick evening session or a shared weekend download.

Chained Echoes Rounds Out the Selection

Chained Echoes is the month’s PS4 offering and the most traditional role-playing game in the group. It is a story-driven single-player JRPG set in Valandis, a land caught between three kingdoms and shaped by political conflict, dragons and powerful mechs.

Its 16-bit-inspired presentation gives it a classic visual identity, but the game is designed as a modern adventure rather than a short retro throwback. Expect a large party, turn-based battles, exploration and a campaign that uses its fantasy setting to move between grounded political stakes and larger-than-life threats.

For subscribers who prefer a focused solo experience, Chained Echoes may be the sleeper hit of the month. It is the selection that asks for the most patience, but it also offers the clearest sense of a journey: build a party, learn the systems and settle in for a substantial campaign rather than a collection of disconnected activities.

The PS4 classification is worth noting for anyone browsing on a PS5. It remains playable there through backwards compatibility, but Sony lists the monthly game as the PS4 version, so check the product page carefully before downloading if you are expecting a native PS5 edition.
